Residential Grading & Clearing Contractor in Winston-Salem & the Triad

ZC Grading & Land Management helps homeowners reshape land the right way—clearing, grading, building pads, driveway rough-ins, and yard leveling. If water is moving the wrong direction or your property needs clean, usable space, we can fix it.

Residential Grading & Site Prep Services

Lot Clearing & Prep

We clear vegetation and debris, manage haul-off, and prep the site for the next phase—whether that’s a home build, driveway, or hardscape project.

Yard Leveling & Reshaping

Uneven yards cause pooling water, poor drainage, and constant maintenance. We reshape and grade to improve function and appearance.

Building Pads & House Site Prep

Pad work isn’t just moving dirt—it’s compaction, moisture control, and building for stability. We prep pads for structures and improvements based on real-world conditions.

Driveway Rough-In & Access Improvements

We establish access early and correctly so the rest of the job runs smoother—proper shaping, water control, and stone where needed.

Why Cheap Grading Fails

  • Water isn’t controlled (washouts and ruts)
  • Soils aren’t compacted in lifts (settlement)
  • No plan for runoff direction (ponding and erosion)
  • Topsoil and subgrade are mixed (weak base)

How Our Process Works

  1. Intake: address + photos/video
  2. Plan: scope + drainage approach
  3. Production: clearing, shaping, compacting
  4. Final: cleanup + walkthrough

Grading & Clearing FAQs

Do I need permits for grading?

It depends on your county/city and the scope (disturbed area, drainage impacts, etc.). We can guide you once we see the location and plan.

Can you fix standing water in my yard?

Usually yes. We identify where the water is coming from and re-grade or add diversion features where needed.

Do you haul off debris and brush?

Yes—haul-off can be included, or we can pile/burn where legally allowed and requested.
